About the Author Pa Henare Tate is (Ngati Manawa, Te Rarawa) was one of the senior Maori figures in the Catholic Church. A former lecturer at the Catholic Institute of Theology, he has a doctorate from the University of Auckland, and a specialist in Maori spirituality. Pa Tate lived in retirement in Motuti,in northern Hokianga, until his death on 1st April 2017.
